I went to a verizon retail store this weekend and was told by one of the reps that this phone has major issues and they were told not to sell anymore of them. The rep even went as far as to show me other phones and said for me to wait until the lg vx8000 comes out. For a phone thats suppose to be the talk of the town the talk is NEGATIVE. 🤭

He is lying to you. He just did not want to deal with talking to you about a phone that you knew something about.

yes, this was my experience at two different Verizon retail stores this weekend in NJ.

My question is, this phone is also being sold by other CDMA vendors. I assume they do not restrict their phone featuers as much as Verizon does. Are those vendors having problems with this phone also? In other words, is there an inherent technology issue with the design of the v710 or are the problems experienced by Verizon because of the 'tinkering' they do with the phone?

It's actually a little of both. I'm in the nj area also and I just got my 7th v710 at the rt22 store in union. They also acknoledge a new firmware to be out this mount to fix some the bugs and some of the bluethooth issues with linking the phone to cars.

Rt 22 has them? I am in the Short Hills area and the Short Hills and East Hanover stores pulled their phones on Saturday morning. 2 other stores in the area did not get expected deliveries [of the v710] on Friday.

I'm going to call them shortly to see if they have any official word this morning. I'm wanting to get this phone in spite of the reported issues, though have some reservation about giving up my CDM9900.

I just spoke with my sales rep at a Verizon in NJ. He said that officially, Verizon has recalled all v710 phones as the problem with the cameras was not completely resolved.

So, their new stock of phones that appeared in stores this past week have gone back due to a continued problem with the camera.

... and I always say, what the heck are we doing taking pictures with a telephone? ;-)
