Second recall?

Do we know what the second recall (official or not) was supposed to address?
My coworker ended up ordering one online because all the stores in the Monmouth, NJ area said the phones were recalled ... again and were out of stock.
I saw some initial posts about the 2nd recall but have not seen anything more since last week.
Any new news?

I was never told specifically what the second recall (a week ago Saturday) was for. The stores are still saying that they don't have them and don't know when they are coming back. When I called the 800 number for V-Wireless they said that they got past the 'issue' and they are available for order. I am also in NJ and agree that none of the stores around here have them yet.
My problem is that I have a new phone that I want to switch for the v710 and need to do so in a store. I'm at the mercy of the retail stores' stock.
I'm getting to be very leary of my decision to give up my perfectly good working Audiovox CDM9900 for the v710. Bluetooth and the memory card for music are the two key features for me. Otherwise, screen quality, voice...

Update - I just spoke to the sales rep I have been dealing with at a local store .. they said that they ARE available for order from their warehouse. They don't know when they are anticipating in them in the store.
I find it amazing that stores don't know what is in their shipments.
By the way, the indication is that the second recall was due to the problem that plagued the phones the first time. Apparently the camera issue was not sufficiently resolved the first time around so they pulled them back to readjust.

The last time there was a recall the V710's were taken off the verizonwireless.com website. This time they have remained on there. And were never taken off. So I don't know what the individual stores are saying but they are still available online. Later
