I just left the Verizonwireless store in Delaware. After speaking w/ the sales rep, he informed me that the ONLY way to get pictures to your phone is to do it through Get it Now and pay the 25cents. I just need to get a definite answer here.
I was under the impression that if I purchased a card reader I would be able to take photos w/ my digital camera then pick and choose which ones I want to put on my phone. In addtion to using the USB cable to transer the photos. Is this correct? Or is there software that I have to purchase?
I have not purchased the 710 as of yet, I'm waiting for my Nextel contract to expire (8 days woo hoo!).
I am semi-literate when it comes to figuring out gadgets, but I just want to make sure that this is not ...

If that is it, then very cool. Unfortunately, my opinion is that VZW has awesome coverage where I live which is why I'm going back to them. I just think it really sucks that they tell you the ONLY way to get pics to your phone is to go through them and pay the $$.
That really sucks.

Litobirdy - did you have any problems transferring stuff? Or is it pretty simple?

One other question. If I purchase the 128mb transflash card do I have to buy the adapter to go with it? Or will the transflash card fit into the 8 in 1 card reader.....
here are the links to what I'm considering purchasing:

You'll find that there's a lot of misinformation passed on to consumers directly from Verizon employees, in their stores. I don't think that it's a sinister plot either. In most cases I think that it's employees that want to seem smarter than they are -- just spouting off what they THINK is correct information. They were probably not ever given the correct information, if any at all, and they don't have the ambition to dig it up on their own.

If I've offended any Verizon employees, I'll apologize in advance -- but this is the impression that many of Verizons customers have got, and it's not getting better.
