Idiot user manual
This phone seems to work OK i.e. the functions I have been able to use seem OK. But the manual is nonsense. The index is hopelessly inadequate and some of the items (ring tone - downloading e.g.) are listed but absent from the book. The phone is advertised as an MP3 player but this fumction is not mentioned at all. We have us another example of a product from a major corporation, sold through another major corporation, that is not ready for prime time. I addressed these issues with Motorola's e-mail support function and was told I would have a response within 24 hours. Guess what -- so far no response. This is the sort of slop that occasionally makes life in the 21st century irksome.

It would be nice to find an up to date manual somewhere on the web. So far I haven't found one! Your best bet is to use this forum by using the search function to find what you need. Most people here are very helpful, and there's a wealth of information already here if you just search for it.
One word of caution though --- read all of the thread completely before deciding that you've found the correct answer to your question. A lot of the information is not always correct, so read the many different posts and sort through the information before deciding what is really correct. A good example is the thing regarding .mp3 files and where and when the .mid extension is to be used to disguise them. Just a few posts previous to this one -- the ...
