What is MDN?

I did *228 on my phone and it said SPL unlocked and MDN download successful. Could someone tell me what the hell MDN is? I've never seen that before. I normally get PRL unlocked and SPL but never MDN. If anyone knows could you please fill me in as well as tell me what all the three letter abbreviations mean? Thanks...

The MDN is just another code for you cell phone number. It's used for programming, it's nothing you really need to know unless you plan on messing with the programming in your phone, which I strongly suggest you don't. I forgot what the exact letter stands for. Probably something like mobile direct number.

MDN = Mobile Device Number. = Your cell number
PRL = Preferred Roaming List. = List of the SIDs your phone should work off before going into a roaming network. *228 option 2 to update. Option 1 AKA *22899 (sounds like you are using this one) programs the MDN and all into the phone.
SID so there are no Q's = System ID. = the system your phone works off of, you go into another area (other than home area) you are working off of a different SID. Hence the need for PRL
SPL = ? possibly Service Provisioning Lock code (feel free to correct me on this) = lock code to put phone into programing mode.
Hope this helps.
