I bought a bootleg one on ebay to try the flash. The moto cable looks the same except for the M logo.. how can it charge ur phone if it covers all of the plug in port??

The Motorola one has a slot in the side where you can plug in your travel charger. It is located on the left side of the part that plugs into your phone.

On a full charge I would think that you should be ok. I made sure mine was plugged in when I flashed after hearing everyone on this thread talk about it. The total flash time only took about 10 minutes from start to end. Also, this has been the only phone I've ever upgraded the firmware on so it would be best to find out from an expert 😉
