after navigating through this link and its replies i have come across several interesting things.

1st - it was stated that both of these firmware flashes potentially reduce battery life on a fully charged phone. is this true?

2nd - certain verizon stores are testing the 8700_01.40.OR firmware, where texas stores were noted. is this true? and does anyone know the name / location of the texas store(s) in question?

and 3rd - verizon canceled plans to release a firmware flash for the v710 at this time. is this true?

thank you.

1 Battery Life has been same with the .02SD Flash... may even be a little better??? Maybe??

2 If you want your phone reflashed then you had better be prepared to either do it yourself or get someelse to do so... I think Verizon has left us V710 owners to fend for ourselvers.

3 When your contract ends... if they haven't fixed the phone by then... take you bussiness to Cingular!!!!
