Price drop?

I was checking VZWs site to see prices on phones - as I'm up for a new one. I noticed the price of a v710 is now $249.99 - $50 online disc = $199.99. It used to be $299.99 - $50 online disc = $249.99. This is great to see as this phone suddenly becomes more affordable - especially with my $100 new every two credit.

Yes, the price did drop. However, VZW raised the price again. There is no change now. I wonder why VZW does this. The CDM 9900 is on the site, off, on, and now off again. The V710 is $250, $200, now $250 again. What is the deal, I wonder?

Geez, I hope it wasn't me. I called the internet sales/tech guys at VZW today to ask them about placing an order online to upgrade my phone. The guy didn't beleive me that the v710 is $249 - $50. Then he looked and said "yeah, it is". I prob sparked them to change it back - was prob a mistake.

Whatever. That just solidified my decision to give Cingular a try.

Beh. Just spoke to them this morning. Seems that it was a secret holiday pricing. They wouldn't even honor it this morning for me. What a bunch of aholes.

Well I tried again. Took a bit more pressure - but they folded. First spoke to the internet team - they sent me to the telesales group. They seem to have the upper hand on pricing, fyi. I got it for $99 with my new every two. Not a bad deal.

So, my v710 is arriving tomorrow. Let the frustrations begin. 🙂

All merchants do this from time to time. I recently bought a digital camera from Best Buy. The Canon A95. It usually sells there for $349.00 - but one day I went in there and the price was set at $309.00. I bought it, thinking I would check it out and return it perhaps in a few days if I didn't like it.
Well, the very next day, I went back (not to return, just to continue looking) to the same store and it was $349.00 again.

Bonus!!!

Sieze the day my friends.

I hear ya. But Verizon has not had much of a track record doing this kind of spontaneous price dropping. Seemed odd to me. But, worked out.
