Back Port???

What is the port on the back of the phone for???? The one that is covered with the round grayish plug.

I don't have the phone in front of me but I am guessing by what you described it is the RF port, used for an external antenna. Is it close to the antenna, and is the port a round post with a hole in the center?

external antenna??? You mean like for a car... or is some other type????

You can plug an external antenna into that port either for your car or not. I'm sure you've seen cars with the small antennas on them... probably for their phones.
