On my phone, I was able to put ring tones on my TF card, but then I forgot to format it. so I cleared the card and formatted it in the phone. but after I did that, I can't write to the card from my computer. it says "disk write protected" now I can't add anything to the card like mp3's. does anyone know how to get this protection off the card. or should I return it and get a new one??? thanks
You're SD adaptor's write protection is probably on. Look at the sides of the adaptor for a switch that you can slide up and down.

Remember though DO NOT put the TF card in the phone or take it out while the phone is on.
Why? I have yet to have a problem. This is a solid state memory device and once they are written to you can remove whenever you please. You can hot-swap all you want.
There is one issue with hot swapping.
It does not update with the new amount of free space available on the card when you go to phone info and storage devices
Also, Why is formatting required? I never did that either and also have had no problems with that.
I inserted and removed TF multiple times and my phone start freezing up while trying to access TF card (required hard reboot - i.e. battery removal).
After reformating TF everything back to normal, so DO NOT REMOVE is a good advise!

I run on the latest Mac software - does anyone know if I can still transfer photos to my computer via the Transflah card - before I go out and buy one - or has this, too been restricted by my pals at Verizon.
I can do it, both ways (phone->computer and computer->phone). You just need a flash card reader that can handle SD... the tf card comes with an SD adapter. Works for MP3s and ringtones (either MP3 or MIDI) as well.

Thanks. My next goal is to use the theme from Sex and the CIty as a ring tone. How do I do that? (Baby steps please, I do not know what I am doing--tech challenged)
Okay, I'm winging it here, but the directory structure is something like this:
E:\motorola\shared\ringtones
--OR--
E:\motorola\shared\sounds
Step one is locate the .MP3 or .MID file you want to use for a ringtone. Step two is to open your tf card in a Windows Explorer window (obviously this will be a tad different if you are using a Mac or your IPAQ). Step three is to drag your sound file to one of the above locations on the tf card. I think the way I did it was to copy it to the "sounds" directory, then whe...
