Antenna microswitch

M3PO

Jan 4, 2005, 9:38 PM
This question was asked quite a while back but was never really answered - There is a microswitch at the base of the antenna guide that is depressed when the antenna is fully retracted into the phone. You can see it if you take off the battery door.
Since I just put a stubby antenna on my 710, and this switch is no longer capable of being depressed, I am wondering what it does?

Well since this switch is only depressed when the antenna is down, I would say it would make the phone think the antenna is up. But I don't have any idea what this switch does. Maybe you should email moto about it. ?

Unless someone has access to the complete documents when the phone was certified, I guess I will have to try Moto. I might still have the phone by the time they respond 😕
