Bluetooth working?

My cousin has a v710, he also has an PDA, I'm not sure what kind but it also has Bluetooth. My cousin was able to connect his PDA to the net through his v710.

From everything I know about VZW crippling the Bluetooth features on the v710, this should not be possible, but he did it right infront of me.

I know none of you or most of you will not believe me, I really wish there was a way I could prove this to you. If I do find some way, I will.

I have my Palm Zire 72 (has bluetooth) working with my V710 to connect to net using bluetooth connection. The speed does not appear to be the 144kbs, much slower but functional. I have not flashed my V710, and I purchased it very early, when Radio Shack had them before Verizon stores had them

From the laptop, Go to "Start" - "Connect To:" - "Show all Connections".

The Bluetooth connection should be listed under dial-up when properly configured.

Every v710 out there is able to connect to a computer for internet access. This is what everyone thinks is the loophole of how Verizon will go down. Verizon advertized that the v710 can connect to a PC via bluetooth, well this is how. The v710 supports dialup internet access when connected via bluetooth.

I don't think you have a clear understanding of what the Bluetooth capabilities of the v710 are. You can pair your v710 to the computer and then discover the available services (profiles) that are offered. If you do this you should see:

* Dial Up Networking (DUN) Gateway
* Hands Free Gateway

The DUN allows your computer to connect to your v710's access to the internet as if your computer was on the internet. Also, this is the same profile that MPT uses.

Hands Free is what your computer can use so you can hear incoming calls through your PC speakers and talk through your microphone to whoever you are calling. This is also what...
