im about to switch to VZN from Sprint. im really interested in this phone. not really for the camera or anything but the headset and the signal strenght. opinions are needed. what seems to be the problem if any that people are having with the signal strength, and also any problems with your phone freezing or anything going on with the headset not working so well. now the headset i think i will get for this phone is the hs810, anyone having problems with it?

I've had this phone for over a month and I can honestly say that the signal strength is the best I've ever had. I thought my old Star Tac had the best signal but the v710 is far better. I'm in the plumbing business and I have to go into boiler rooms every day. I couldn't get a signal with the Star Tac but I get it with the v710. Not just those areas but there are many other places during my work day that I couldn't get a signal before and I'm getting it with the 710. Forget any LG, I couldn't get a signal in my own home with any of them. In regards to locking up just don't scroll through the menu or phonebook or anything else too fast. What happens is if you scroll too fast it can't catch up and it will lock. Just scroll slower and it's just...

I've been with Verizon for years. I bought the V710, then returned it - I thought the phone was great, but the camera sucks AND - see other parts of this website for the updated V710, I think it will be called the E816 - better camera, key pad and it will have a new search feature to the phone book - I had over a 100 entries and it got pretty hard to find a particular entry - it has no search feature. If you need it now, go for it, but I will wait - the V710 also has a $50 rebate - a usual sign that an update is on the way.

Not sure how sportsnut can say the camera is good. It is possibly the worst and poorest excuse for a camera I have ever seen. In order to take a somewhat decent picture, you have to be in complete daylight - not just a few lights in the house but COMPLETE daylight. Otherwise it comes out a grainy mess with scanlines.

I've had the V710 since the day it came out from Radio Shack and this is the best phone VZW has ever had. I, like you, don't care about the camara! I wanted a good phone and a bluethooth headset. This has the best reception of anything VZW or Motorola have ever had!! I have a HS 810 & 820, both work great and I can leave my phone downstairs in my house and talk on it from upstairs - more then the 30 feet! I have Dodge Ram P/U with Uconnect in it and it pairs with no problem with the phone and the phone always works great! I have not a problem with it locking up, but if you do, try turning off and then back on once a day and should fix it.

It's a good phone - no doubt. Just not what it was touted to be. Signal strength is excellent. You will be VERY pleased especially after being at Sprint. 🙂
