Ring Tone Problem
Not knowing just what to do I figured I should just loop the file, so I did. Using Wavepad, I looped it several times, creating a 28 second wav file. Converted the new file into an MP3 file. I then changed the extension of the file to mid from mp3. Emailed it to my phone and was able to play it on my phone and use it as a ring tone.
PROBLEM is that the ring tone won’t stop playing. If you go into the settings and attempt to change the ring tone from one ring tone to the new “24” ring tone, it will play the entire 28 seconds e...

Should I have used another “loop” method?
Thanks for your help guys.
Don't loop it yourself like that. Whne your phone rings and plays a ringtone it will loop it automatically.
What I would like to know is whether or not the phone is not looping on its own because it's a mid file rather than an mp3 file?
If this is the case then I'll go out and get the TF Card.

Why in the heck would you rename it from .mp3 to .mid? You can't make it be a MIDI file by renaming it! The phone is perfectly happy to play either MIDI (.mid) or .MP3 files (at least when you copy them from the tf card).

That's bogus, Visioneer. My phone plays REAL midi files, no problem.

The .mid trick is used however to send .mp3 files through Verizons Pix Place.
Sorry for any misinformation.

there does seem to be an issue of the phone not recognizing mp3 file extensions. itunes converts edited songs to mp3 then you have to go into the folder the new song is in and change the extension to .mid. i have know idea why. there is step by step in this forum how to do this, very well explained. do a search for ringtones and you'll find it. if i find it again i'll post it.
Weird. My phone has no problem whatever -- it will happily play .mp3 or .mid files.
