Motorola V710
Questions and help with my V710 with USCC
hey everyone i just have some questions and need some help with things. I know a lot of poeple have the 710 with verizion and alot of these posts relate to verizon phones. i searched through the posts to find stuff about USCC so i did my research. First i want to put MP3 ringtones onto my phone how can i do it with uscc i read some posts that you cant do it with tf card and verizon you can send then in an email but how can i put them this phone. and how can i make my own with what program and tools so i can make a 30 sec clip. next flashing my phone do i need to so i can get MP3 on it? and how do i do it i know with a usb cable but i dont know what the newest program is or if the uscc already has it on it. The USCC v710 has had the ability to copy anything from the TF card to the phone disabled. I did do a seem edit on mine and restored that function, but it doesn't come that way.
If you don't want to do a seem edit (can be dangerous-trash the phone if not done right) then the best thing is to get Mobile Phone Tools from Motorola. It comes with the USB cable and the program, which can be upgraded online. With this program, you can put your mp3 ringtones onto the phone.
As far as editing mp3s...any mp3 editor will work. I use iMagic Audio Editor. I edit whatever mp3 I want down to about 25 seconds (max ring time)and down sample it to mono, 22000 khz, 16 bit, (saves space and you don't need much quality for that little speaker). ...

Hi, I did install the Mobile Phone Tool v3.11h. However I'm still not sure how to put the mp3 in as ringtone. Can you give some details?
I heard somebody mentioned that there's something called "Media Manager" inside the MPT, but I just couldn't find it anywhere...

thanks yukong but if i wanted to do a seem edit how would i do it. i hear about everyone flashing there phone to make things better like the camera. i know its not going to take the greates pics but i get so many lines in it for such a small camera. and where can i get a mp3 editor or when i get mpt kit it that a good editor. and if i seem edit then can i tranfer ringtones using a tf card. why would uscc disable that ability thats something that motorola gave the ability to the phone. uscc rep told me that you can use a tf card and obex. obex isnt that big of a deal but the tf card is something different no where on motorola of uscc says that its inactive. thanks for your help
