Name Dial
I just got the V710 from VZ. I like the phone but am having a difficult time with the Name Dial. I'd like to be able to customize a name for the voice prompt. For example, "John Smith" I'd like to be able to say "Stink."
Is that possible?

To use "Stink" in your example you would have to put in "Stink" as the name not "John Smith". The V710 uses the name not a recording of the name like older phones did. Hope this helps

I understood that from the directions. Although it might appear to be a leap forward in technology to use the name as it is spelled out, it also creates issues, especially when you have people with similar names. Is there any way to override the feature? Can you manually push an alternative name or alias across it as a voice prompt? Can you delineate a person with specific names for his home phone, mobile phone or work phone?
Again it might be a leap forward in terms of technology, but a step back in terms of flexibility and functionality.

1. Try setting up the speed dial buttons to do that. I use 1 for Home, 2 for Work, etc.
2. Yes, you can have multiple numbers per contact name. Look at the icon next to the name on the display which shows the number type. If you enter more than one number, pressing the left-right nav buttons will cycle through the home-work-mobile, etc icons.
When using voice dial, you first speak the name and ObeyMoto asks which number.
