There probally will not be an offical update due to a. the lawsuit the lawsuit that was filed. (I'm betting VZW is going to play hadrball with this claiming it is their bussiness model.) b. The phone is already several months old and cell phone are now almost outdated before they are even released.
That could be one scenario. But what happens if Verizon releases the E815 or another CDMA phone with Bluetooth?
They would have to state that their "Business Model" has changed and if they did not release the intentionally disabled features of the v710, their damages awarded at the arbitration could be huge.

I would be surprised if the E815 offered more BT functions than the V710. Its not as if they could not offer more functions now. Its just that they choose to cripple the phone. You can be sure that they will see fewer new customers coming in asking for the E815 than the number brought in with hihj hopes for the V710. Once my contract runs out, I will change carriers unless they offer a functional BT phone.
I find it interesting that they have enabled OBEX on the Verizon (Audiovox) 6600 PDA. It seems to have full stack Bluetooth, but no BREW.
