I'm not sure if I want to take my old V710 and get a new V710 with a fix camera.

What do you loose/win with the V710 new update/flash?

There is no official new flash from Verizon. There may never be.

There probally will not be an offical update due to a. the lawsuit the lawsuit that was filed. (I'm betting VZW is going to play hadrball with this claiming it is their bussiness model.) b. The phone is already several months old and cell phone are now almost outdated before they are even released.

That could be one scenario. But what happens if Verizon releases the E815 or another CDMA phone with Bluetooth?

They would have to state that their "Business Model" has changed and if they did not release the intentionally disabled features of the v710, their damages awarded at the arbitration could be huge.

If they play this the way I think they will... the E815 will be released but with the same crippled bluetooth fuctions.

Frankly, I think they could be making a mistake. If I were in their shoes I would releash the new V710 software and claim that they simply did not realize that these fuctions were that important. That VZW wants to make its customers happy and that the pixplace and get it now were set in place to try to have uniformaty among its phones to maxmize system compatabilty.

This way they save face to speak, kill the law suit, and win over more customers. A lesson here to all compannies is... you make more by charging less with more customers. It's strickly a numbers game. More customers= More $$$$$, even if you are charging ...

I would be surprised if the E815 offered more BT functions than the V710. Its not as if they could not offer more functions now. Its just that they choose to cripple the phone. You can be sure that they will see fewer new customers coming in asking for the E815 than the number brought in with hihj hopes for the V710. Once my contract runs out, I will change carriers unless they offer a functional BT phone.

I find it interesting that they have enabled OBEX on the Verizon (Audiovox) 6600 PDA. It seems to have full stack Bluetooth, but no BREW.

Can someone answer the original question in regards to the SD update and the VZW beta that's floating around?

Also, is the transfering of files from the transflash card in the VZW beta really disabled?

The 1.4OR BETA version disabled that but you can still use the data cable.

I went to the Verizon store yesterday to try to get the newest flash upgrade, which i had hear that it would fix the file transfer problem, well they don't have a new flash update and said they wont be getting one. they said that verizon screwed up the first time by allowing the transfer ability, because now they aren't getting money from get it now....so i had them switch mine out with a v710 that had the older software, now i can do it just fine...hope this helps.
