New / FRU / or refurbished

There have questions like this in the past but never a firm answer.
It probably doesn't matter to most but to some it does - How can you tell if you have a refurbished or New replacement phone?
I have read to look at the labels and see if they have been replaced. Look at the Lifetime call timer is another suggestion.
I just got a "replacement" 710 today. It looks like the labels under the battery have been covered over but then the lifetime call timer was at only 2 minutes.
Does the lifetime call timer ever get reset on a refurb? What are the things to look for to see if you have a new or a refurbished FRU.

not sure ,but i would think if the did a full software replacement it would clear everything. 😁
