So what's the vote? VZW flash update or not?
He made a bit of a face and said it was a decision by VZW to disable it and when I mentioned the GIN motivation I could see he was in agreement that it was a lousy move but he was being cool - all in all , a pretty knowledgable and ok guy.
I've read about getting the TF's ability back by altering the seem here, so I'm trying to decide whether to update or not.
I want my phone to ring when using my HS820 and, as an audio engineer and musician, I make my own ringtones so I want a 256 MB TF card to transfer my own stuff back and forth for ringtones.

I had the low volume problem which I fixed a bit with the opcode hack. I want to pick up a 256 TF to load my own ringtones so while I'd like the fixes from the .40 update, I dont want VZW removing the TF's ability to transfer audio files.

I don't see VZW doing any different in the near future no matter what phone you have.

I'm in the same boat, unfortunately. You know, I really like my 710 and don't mind the $150. I spent for it. I didn't expect OBEX, although that would have been great.
I do expect my phone to ring if I'm using my headset cause I'm not gonna walk around looking like some dork from Star Trek waiting for a call to come in on the HS 820 and where...
