I have the same combination (HS850 and v710.) I have swapped out the headset for a brand-new replacement THREE times, and the phone once as well. I have also tried someone else's HS850. Same problem: Garbled communication (both directions.) After giving up on Verizon, I contacted Motorola directly, and they are sending an HS820 to see if I have the same problem with that model.

One thing I've noticed. I paired the HS850 with my laptop and listened to some music through it. SAME THING. I also notice that the signal is extremely weak, and varied greatly while in use. I think it's a problem with the design of the handset.

We'll see next week...

The best thing to do if you do decide to buy a headset is buy it directly from Verizon because they w...
