All excitement lost

I like collecting wireless handsets but that guy has all of the latest & greatest (look at the collection photos from link at top of page). He's posted tons of information on Howard Forums and says the speaker independent voice recognition is absolutely incredible. No need to record names for voice dialing- just say the name or number-- too cool, I gotta have it.
and about the picture quality... Will you be able to print out the pictures?
and also on www.phonearena.com it says that the phone (V710) does have a FM radio ???
yours answers be appriciated
thank you
Mike
I have never seen any mention of an FM radio before on this phone, that's wierd. I'd be skeptical, but I also would like to know the answer to that question for sure.....

SanDisk Transflash memory for Motorola V710 mobile
I don't think that's it. You should be able to fit a LOT more than 3 minutes of video on 128MB flash card. The non-USA phones are over an hour. My guess is that the 3 minute limitation is due to the amount of memory (probably RAM) inside the phone. Often times the flash card interface isn't fast enough to write video directly to the card, so they store it up in RAM and dump it to the flash card after you stop recording.

Keep in mind that this is for watchable, TV-quality video on a PocketPC-sized screen. I don't really think the video quality on this phone and the screen size will be quite the same. You should be able to squeeze a whole lot more on a 128 Mb memory card. I've seen estimates of over 2 hours(!).
Here are a few good reads on the topic:

I think the 3 minute limit relates to the issue of video messaging. I can't imagine anyone actually WANTING to message an hour of video (or anyone who would want to receive it). Perhaps someone with more informati...

Can we do anything with the videos besides send them over the VZW network?
I certainly hope we can download them onto a computer ... otherwise the novelty will wear off real quick.
