Phone ugrade question
I'm new to the forum and waiting just like you all for the V710 to come out. I was wondering I signed up with Verizon Wireless in November of 2002. If this phone comes out lets say July 1st can I upgrade my phone? Or do I have to pay much higher price? Also If I have to pay more can I sign a new 2 year contract and get the phone for retail?

If you are on a plan 49.99 or higher and had your current phone for at least 12 months(it seems that you have)We(VZW) will let you do an early upgrade and you have to sign a 2yr contract extention from the purchse date of the new upgrade. You say you got your current phone on Nov 2002 that also means that you can get the NEW EVERY TWO UPGRADE that is. When VZW gives you $100 credit towards a new piece of equipment. And you can get that in Sept. 2004 if you got your curret phone in Nov. 2002 with out any other upgrades. So i would wait intill Sept to upgrade so you can get $100.00 credit for a new piece of equipment.

To add a bit to this, the Early Upgrade program is not forever... so far. And with the extension, your rate plan has to be 59.99 or higher. The 49.99 was just when the Early Upgrade was to a camera phone, push to talk, or PDA. It was actually just recently extended. As far as New Every Two, you have to have been on a rate plan of 35.00 or higher for your previous 2yr contract.
