You poor love lost boy. Borrow a MiniDV camera from someone, or you can rent one for a day. Pick up a case of tapes, and have her read the V710 manual to you while she does flashdance. Because without a TransFlash card, you're gonna have a 4 second video, and 2 pictures. This will go perfect with your half of brain.
