Battery configuration?

Does anyone know, or can anyone intelligently speculate (read “guess”) as to what the v710's battery configuration will be like?

To be more precise...

I've seen some Motorola's where the batter is... well a battery which is covered by a (you guessed it) cover. In others, the battery clips into the body of the phone, and becomes part of the phone's body. Am I making any sense?

Anyway, I prefer the latter and that's what I've had in my current phone (Samsung a530 - battery clips into the back) and my previous phone (Motorola StarTac Timeport - battery clips into the front).

If you look at this "External Photos" PDF document from the FCC documents Motorola submitted for the V710, on the second page you can see a picture of the batttery next to the phone with the open battery compartment. The battery and the cover appear to be separate (like a lot of the other latest Motorola phones).

A picture says a thousand words! Thanks for your elegant answer.

I suppose there are pros & cons for either approach, but I have to say that one of the cons to this approach (battery inside a detachable door) is that it has to take longer to swap out batteries. Oh well... I guess I can learn to live with that.

I sure hope the build quality is better than that of a v60 I saw recently. A colleague was trying to get her new model working but we couldn't get the battery-cover door off. Astonishingly shoddy!

Thanks again,
