got some decisions to make could use your help...

i've been lurking for a while, but this is my first post. been following the new phones being developed for VZW news/rumors, mainly because i have to choose a new phone pretty soon. would like to hear others' input to see which new VZW phone will work best for me.

first, i work for an association, and we have an annual conference coming up on july 17. the conference is the one time per year when i need my phone the most... i literally forward my office phone to my cell... not to mention, i'm taking a lot of pictures at the meeting. any other time of the year, my main need is just voice sevice, but i NEED to be able to sync with Outlook and find contacts quickly. Also need a tri-band for the NSR plan.

The only honest answer would be too wait and see whats available right before you leave for your trip. No one knows for sure which phones will be out before 7/17. I would wait and see if anything that fits your needs is available at that time. As for now, I wouldn't purchase any of verizon's available phones and wait.

we know that the 7000 n 9900 will b out before that date. the 7000 on the week of 25th and the 9900, anywhere from next week to early july so bo-ffe will b out. Ofcourse the a790 n a670 r already out

I think i'd get the vx8000.
Assuming, of course, that the august date is valid.

If syncing with Outlook is important to you, the V710 might be a good phone for. If you look at the following list of V710 accessories from Motorola's web site, you'll see an item for Mobile PhoneTools 2.0.

If you look at this description of Mobile PhoneTools 2.0, it says "Sync capabilities are compatible with Microsoft Outlook Express (Contact sync only), Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 20002"
