What are the odds? You do the math
everyone in this forum is saying the v710 should be out by the latest july 6. I was waiting for audiovox cdm-9900, but if the v710 comes out within a month of the 9900 I'll wait. YOU DO THE MATH
9900 fcc approval august 27 2003---still not available.
v710 fcc approval February 12 2004.
My question is what makes anybody think these phones will come out around the same time?
Also it was this forum that told me the 9900 would be out in march, april, may, ...guaranteed.

FCC approval dates don't mean much as far as release dates go. The RIM Blackberry 7750 for Verizon was approved on March 19, 2004 and has been out for a couple of months already. Here, look for yourself.

One of the testing documents submitted to the FCC for the V710 has dates in it that say November, 2003. Here's a link.

So I wouldn't judge the release date based on the FCC approval date.

The July 6th date came from VZWSales

To me, as far as the V710 likely coming out somewhat soon, the strongest indicator I've seen is the promotional headset give-away ad on the Moto website's V710 page.

If you walk into a Verizon store...they generally have about 12/13 phones they sell at a time (not including PTT/PDA/aircards). The company also seems to bring in a new model right when the discontinue another. Example:
New Phones: LG3200/Samsung 650/Samsung 670
Discontinued Phones: Moto 730/LG 4400/Samsung 530
Same idea should come to phase for these new phones..like the 7000/9900/710/810
The company will probably phase out the Moto v60s/Moto 343/LG 6000/Audivox 8600. And the Kyocera 414 will probably be replaced when the Koi comes out.
I don't see the discontinued list....so again...this is only a presumption.....but I did hear a rumor that VZW plans a PPT relaunch sometime down the road where they are going to offer more PTT...

That promo has been out forever. The origonal end date was to be 7/10/04 but that will most likely be extended
