Motorola V710
ECKO, QUESTION...
are you sure the speakerphone function can't be used while the phone is closed like one the V60s', I'm just curious and making sure because someone over on HoFo said it's possible. I would really appreciate it if you double checked.
Thanks for your time!
In case anybody is wondering why I think the speakerphone button is on the side, there are diagrams of the V710 with an explanation of each button in this draft user manual for the Motorola V260/V265 that was just put up on the FCC web site. It's pretty obvious that the user manual for those phones was taken from the V710 because of the diagrams. Just scroll down to page 4 of this document.

i see what you are saying with the speakerphone button on the side...nonetheless, i highly doubt that it will answer the call
on page 41 of the FCC manual it states:
"Note: Because the microphone and earpiece are unavailable when the phone is closed, you must use a headset or other handsfree device with this feature."
i wish i were wrong, but somehow i feel this feature will not work while the phone is closed.
And dos anyone have one of these phones new in box for sale
Thanks, the Milkman

There is nothing special about the activation of the v710. You could get it activated without a problem before today. Today is just like any other day and it could've been activated yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week, last month or whenever you received the phone.
I doubt it very seriously if anyone has one new in box and if so if you'll be willing to pay the price they ask for it but just trying to find one new in box should be a tough enough struggle.

ecko04, if I'm not mistaken the speakphone button is on the side of the phone. What happens if somebody is calling you and you press that button? Can you answer the call with that button and automatically put the person on speaker?
Once again in case i'm loosing anyone or they haven't understood my numerous posts on this subject, you cannot answer the phone with that button, you cannot use the speakerphone while the phone is closed under any circumstances. It doesn't matter if a person is calling you and you press that button it will not answer the call and the person won't just magically be put on speakerphone. You simply CANNOT use the speakerphone while the phone is CLOSED....

Sorry ecko04, didn't mean to get you upset. I just didn't remember seeing any other speakerphone questions as specific as mine. âšī¸ Thanks again for all the information on the phone.
You didn't get me upset at all, I don't mind responding to anything you ask me. You're usually the one I can depend on for information. I simply quoted you because I wanted you to know that I was also answering your question. That thread was there to answer the numerous emails i've been receiving about the speakerphone. I wasn't getting mad or upset or anything of that nature.
