I have been waiting for this phone since last summer. I believe that motorola has some issues to work out. I recently upgraded my phone from the v60i to the new Samsung a 670. Honestly if you guys are looking for a new phone give this one a try on a one year contrct. By the time you are eligible to upgrade again in about ten months the v710 will finally be out. I have just heard that the v710 may be going back to motorola to have the t flash memory slot removed. That is one or the reasons the phone is well waited for. Also they may be removing the video camera feature as well, to make it just a really good digital camera 🤣 🙂 🙂

Why are you even posting this crap? Do you enjoy starting bullsh*t threads?

The v710 has been ready to go for about a month now, there was no delay in neither the vx7000 or the v710. There was nothing wrong with Motorola, they had it ready to go.

The hold up is with Verizon and them trying to figure out how much to charge for video messaging to maximize profit without the customer complaining of outrageous pricing structures.

Quite frankly if the v710 comes out in July, as expected by many people, Verizon would be beating their target launch month by a full month because it was originally slated back in January to be released in August.

They won't be removing any transflash slot as SanDisk is already planning on implementing th...

ecko,

I believe you are correct with the reason they are waiting. However, there is some truth to what master is saying. Instead of Motorola removing the transflash slot in the phone they are removing the transflash memory card. Verizon told Motorola that they didnt want the memory chip to be included with the phone for they want the user to have to utilize their network to send information to emails or other phones. I also know that there were some problems with the antenna in the beginning getting in the way of the camera lens which i believe have been worked out. I understand that the V710 will be available in the first week of July. This information is from a reliable source. Thanks for all the posts!

How is removing a memory card going to prevent anyone from going out and buying one once SANdisk makes them available? If they wanted to limit this functionality it seems it'd be much easier to do via software...

Now I could see them wanting the card removed so you'd have to buy one from Verizon or something...

I agree with you, im not Verizon so i dont know, i can only guess. My guess is they think that not everyone will go out and buy a memory card. Some will use the network. I believe that it brings a great opportunity to retailers to sell an additional accessory. But like i said just a guess.

Hmm, you sure the information is about the V710 since wasn't the antenna in the way of the camera a V810 issue?

No I don't enjoy starting bs threads. I feel like the wait for thiis phone has been entirely too long. One week after another. Every time you turn around there is something else wrong. Some other excuse why it is not out. The only reason I mentioned the 670 is because by the time the 710 comes out I will eligible for another upgrade. I sometimes wonder why someone can't just make a post on a forum, and not be insulted. I am a motorola fanatic and always have been. So when the 710 does finally come out I will buy it full price if need be but in the mean time the a670 serves the purpose. Let's be realistic for a minute here. The average person uses the camera for a good month or so and then it is just an extra feature.

You have to remember that, most likely, most of the reasons why it's not out yet are made-up reasons given for release dates that were probably also made-up.
