Motorola V710
ECKO HOOKED ME UP!! (v710 in my hands)
I have to say that Ecko is the real thing. An honest, reliable businessman.
My v710 arrived today as promised in perfect condition. It is charging now. Can't wait to try it out.
I have read a lot of negative posts on this board about trust etc etc. If pictures of the phone are required I will post them. I would prefer not to be flamed because somebody thinks I am lying.
And to answer the question early, yes I paid $600 for a phone that may be available in 2 weeks. No that doesn't seem too much to me to be the first on the block, in the town, in the state to have a phone.
Have a good day all...ECKO RULES!!

I will post some pictures tonight. I don't have a site setup yet for image posting, but I think my fiancee has one for auction posting so it shouldn't be long.
Unfortunately ecko coudlnt do this, but if you are on a ac, could you please let us know the functionality of rht ebluetooth with regards to syncing, file transfer (yes I know it was blobked, but anyway) and anthign else with BT and the mac, thanks a lot!
-BT pairing with a headset worked flawlessly
-I paired the phone with my desktop and the profiles available are "Handsfree" and "Dial-Up Networking".
-Unfortunately, I have been unable to get Mobilephone Tools to work with BT. Anybody have any ideas? The program attempts so connect and pair with the phone but crashes without success.
-I will trying actual dial-up networking with Verizon tomorrow with my laptop.
Unless someone hacks the software I can confirm no file transfer or exploring of the phone via BT...
Now to transfer my contacts.
coverthawk, can you (or have you tried) to transfer a picture taken by the phone to your computer via bluetooth? I have a friend that has a sony-ericcson model that we tansfred pictures to an ipaq 1945 via blutooth without much fuss, was just curios if verizon limited this function. thanks, and congrats...you bastard! 😉
I successfully paired the phone to my Ipaq 4150. The only profile that comes up is dial-up...so no, it doesn't seem possible to transfer images or anything else via BT. Dial-up works like a charm though...very exciting having the functionality of BT with Verizon's coverage...
Additionally, I have been able to use Mobile Phone Tools to pair and recognize the phone and its options, but it will not sync contacts. It is getting frustrating, because there must be something I am doing wrong. Any ideas?
Anyway, could you possibly post pics or a vid of that process in action? It would be greatly appreciated!
PoeticAshes: Let me know specifically what type of image you would like to see of BT pairing with a PDA. I do not have the ability to take video, so it would have to be images.
I still cannot get the contacts to sync, so I have to order a data cable to see if it is some issue with BT.
I will dive into the features of the phone tomorrow, so I have not really looked at MP3 playback and the camera (I do not currently have any way to get images off of the phone anyway).
Anybody have and ideas when transflash wi...

1. Does the keypad have any sorft of illumination to it?
2. Are there other options for the external screen?
I would like to see, if it's not a problem, the phone dialing up to enable the PDA to use it as a modem, and the result of it after..thanks!
the external screen: can u can the backgrounds?
Actually, once the phone is setup, all of the work is done at the PDA (selecting the dial-up shortcut). PDA connects to phone, phone dials, BOOM! Takes maybe 10 seconds.
Will post images though of what the phone looks like when it dials.
External screen: I cannot find any way to modify the external screen. I think it will show a photo contact for caller ID, but since I have no phonebook installed yet I cannot confirm.
The external screen does not display time, date, etc permanently. It shuts off after the time set for backlight (so is for both the internal and external display).
Selectable times are 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 seconds.
You have BT and I have the data cable so we should be able to work like this. I'm not drunk everyone so i'm going to take some pix of the 7000 in a little while. Hopefully my site will be back up soon.

Try using QuickLink Mobile software. I have the generic motorola CDMA phone driver for my v120e and I can connect to 14.4 dial up (i don't have a data plan, so I don't know about national access). QuickLink Mobile software came with the pacakge I got from Verizon when I bought the Mobile Office kit. Email me if u need the software.
That doesn't work. I've tried 3 methods to connect using a data cable and neither of them work. I tried to connect through QuickLink, Maunual through WinXP, and Mobile Phone Tools. None of them work for connecting to National Access through a data cable. Yet I can transfer my phonebook just fine with a data cable.
If it did the faceplate should snap off relatively easily correct? Based on the assumption I would say nope.
apologizes if these questions have been answered already, I couldn't find them -
1 -Does the phone still have a functional memory card slot? I had read reports that verizon wanted this pulled from the phone.
2 - Does anybody know what the official release date is for this, and what the retail price will be?
Thanks to anyone that can help.
1-The slot IS there. Waiting for transflash availability.
2-Don't know and I wouldn't want to speculate.
I sent you an email yesterday about the 710 that you have left. I would like to go ahead and purchase it. I haven't heard from you so I thought maybe you havn't received my email. The email I sent has my Verizon phone number on it. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for all of your help. My email is [email protected] if you need to email me or you can call the number I left.

So it's physically there (the mem slot), but you don't know if it is actually active yet?
it's an active slot. Just called a couple of places, many of them have the transflash cards on special order and would take a couple of weeks to recieve, also they'll be out everywhere on 7/13.
Stores say special order which really means pre-order until SanDisk starts shipping them out.
I also wanted the card with a usb adapter so I could drop mp3's on there from the computer and simply switch storage devices within the phone, yes that is an option, but all the stores I spoke with haven't recieved that pre-order "special order" yet.
I'm pretty sure there will be a USB adapater for the card se...

well..that sucks..there must be a way..hopefully someone will figure it out. I was hoping to be able to take pics on the phone (for work) then transfer them to my ppc, then e...
