Defeats the purpose of Bluetooth

So Verizon is disbling the ability to synchronize phonebooks and transfer images/videos/mp3's using bluetooth? If this is the case, then the only uses for BT are surfing the web with a PDA and using a BT headset.

One of the main reasons I want bluetooth is so that I can add someone's phone number to my phone, and then it will sync with my pda (and vice versa) so I don't have to keep two separate phonebook databases. I would also like to be able to sync phonebooks with my wife's phone.

Most phones have software upgrades/revisions after they're released. How can we petition, or who can we contact, to get Verizon to enable these features?

Well, theoretically (since it seems like everyone here has become a philosopher), you could obtain a copy of the Motorola software and write the addition yourself (not a particularly good idea), secondly, you can beg and beg and beg Verizon to change it, (to be honest, I don't think a petition would work, not only because of the distance barrier, but also that Verizon has you locked in to a contract and they have your money). Which of those options is easier is in the eye of the beholder.... hmmmm.........

Verizon does not have me locked into a contract.

And more importantly, who would I (we) talk to at Verizon? How would I (we) get through to someone who makes decisions?
