Why Bluetooth??

ivalum21

I'm not being an as* here, i seriously want to know. Why is bluetooth so special, what would i use it for?? I could care less about a headset, i don't like using them in the first place. So what other legitimate reason is there for bluetooth??

I'm asking this because the 7000 is out, and if i can find a good reason to wait for this phone that has bluetooth capabilities, i will. Otherwise, why not just go with the 7000??

In my case...for my Acura TL w/ HFL (Hands Free Link). It utilzes a blue tooth phone if you have one with a hands free profile.

Yeah...I'm saying, other than being able to talk on your phone without holding your phone while driving or something, what else is there?? I have no problem driving and holding my cell phone...I live in Iowa, there isn't a cell phone law here, probably won't ever be.

So, seriously, what else is there to Bluetooth?

First off you are completely off base when it comes to Bluetooth. You seem to be stuck on the "I don't have a bluetooth capable car" kick... bluetooth isn't all about talking in your car.

Have a laptop? Using bluetooth you can synch up your v710 with your laptop. Share information with your Outlook (or other) address book, contacts, etc. Another cool feature is you can find little programs that allow you to have caller id on your laptop. Your phone rings... and on your laptop it pops up a little notification that your phone is ringing and displays the caller id information. Handy if you use a computer while listening to music with headphones on. You can also transfer photos from the phone to the PC using bluetooth and I would imagin...

Thanks alot gocards757....that's all i wanted to know was what i could use with Bluetooth technology.

It may be worth the wait for 710, but it hopefully will be soon...

Chances are you either have a use for Bluetooth in mind already or you don't care about it.

For me, it's definitely the headset (you have to be hands free driving in Wash, DC starting 7/1/04) and Internet/E-Mail connectivity for my iPAQ 2215.

Thank you npitlor, I appreciate the info.

Basically, for a college junior driving a '91 Grand Am...i have no reason for a Bluetooth phone.

Thanks again!

Dude...i'm not going to pay 100-200 bucks more for a bluetooth phone when i'm not going to use the bluetooth features....regardless if the quality of the picture is a little better than the 7000.

You're not just paying more for a picture quality, you're paying more for the bluetooth technology.

well you might as well consider it that the v710 is trimode vs. the 7000 thats only dual mode also the v710 looks much nicer and will have expandable memory option

Tri-mode means it can work on digital networks as well as the older analog networks. When you are out of the city and off the interstates being able to access an analog network really comes in handy.

Don't forget about the speakerphone (for me the #2 reason I can't even consider the VX7000).
