V710 Ad In Today's WSJ
I noticed that there was a large ad for the V710 in today's Wall Street Journal. When I checked HoFo after I got home, someone had scanned the advertisement and posted it. Check out this thread:

This ad in WSJ says alot and was predicted on hofo couple weeks ago.a lot of threads and buzz over at hofo all of a sudden and alot of claiming its on its way from this friday, to next tuesday. We'll see

That is a pretty expensive piece of color advertising in the WSJ. I can't imagine Motorola running that ad without the knowledge that the phone is on it's way quite soon. I spoke to a salesperson at a San Francisco VZW store this last weekend and he knew about the phone and enthusiastically said "Within two weeks! I have been waiting for one myself!" Looks like he may be right. 🙂

That is very true. Advertising well before a product comes out hardly ever happens because it is just stupid. If you advertise for a product then people want to go buy it. If you advertise for a product that isn't out then people will go into the store and get mad because they can't buy it. Prerelease advertising is usually done right before the product is released. I would guess that the phone will come out in the next two weeks unless Motorola is completely retarded....

F*ck Man i did not know they pushed the date back f*cking August 1st. This is F*cked up what motorola does it was July 10th now its August 1st.

Most of the predictions I've seen on hofo regarding this ad ALSO predicted a July 1 release. Specifically, there was one last week from a guy who does seem to actually have some real knowledge of the situation, who was very careful not to mention the super-top-secret v710... but he was talking about how everyone would be real excited to see the vx7000 released on 7/1/04.
Of course the super-top-secret code was the bolded section of the date. May also explain why some markets cho...
