Motorola V710
V710 Release date thoughts
I've been reading post here and on HoFo about the v710 and I have made some assumptions about the release date. So here they are.
1. Everyone is freaking out about motorola moving the contest back a couple of weeks. To me this means nothing if you think about it. There is no way that 710 people will buy and register the the phone in just 4 days (this is if the release is the 6th and the contest ended on the 10th). Don't get me wrong I believe that people will buy the v710 in bunches and alot will register but not 710. The reason for this is most of the people who can afford this phone and truly use it will most likely buy a bluetooth headset when they buy the phone. Unless they have registered for the headset then maybe they would wait. Also, how many people do you think have registered? thousands i bet but not all will really buy or even remember. So they push the contest end date back a couple of weeks but that really has no baring on when the phone will be released.
2) I think the phone could be released on the 6th cause if you remember right (and i might be off a little bit) but no one could see the 7000 info on verizon until about the 20th of June. The 20th is about 5 days before the original target release date. Also, CS reps and store employees have told me sometimes they don't even get training on a phone until a day or two before release so lets wait until the 4th or 5th to really make assumptions.
3) Finally, maybe the phone as already been shown to and trained on by CS and store reps but verizon told them to be very confidental about it because of the high demand on it. Cause think about how many times a day do we get a post on here about someone calling CS or a store and getting so info? i think at least a hundred. So think about how much that would double or even triple if verizon was just giving info out like nothing. And remember until it launches verizon could always pull the plug and how many of you would be pissed off if that happened
