I have a friend who is a Corporate Executive for Verizon in NY, and I asked her about the V710, and she plainly said don't hold your breath. She said that she wanted one for herself and she keeps getting a run around from inside the company. She then added that she knows that they have been having problems with bluetooth, and recommended the vx7000 which is what she now has. A second later I went into a Verizon store and the manager told me that the new dates she has for the v710 are slated for August and stressed that was by no means a guarantee. She also went on to say that Verizon is having serious problems with the bluetooth in that in conflicts with their network. That said she went on to say that when it does launch it will be expe...

network problem w/ bluetooth--oh she meant they were having a hard time disabling it completely or enough where you don't have access to files on phone. I am almost to the point of not caring if it comes out anymore.

There sure are a lot of misconceptions floating around this site. Let me try to clarify. The phone has completed the friendly-user trial process. They are testing a new software upgrade for the phone. It has nothing to do with the bluetooth. Bluetooth is not a network-based feature. It is simply a signal transfer b/t the handset and the bluetooth accessory. The phone has not been given a definite release date and the mock-up kits have not been released and delivered. 😈

3. So your friend and the store manager recommended the 7000. Did they ask you if you needed Tri-Mode? SpeakerPhone? Bluetooth? As I have said before I don't consider these phones comparable due to their major differences in features. It sounds like to me you are one of the many on here who is attempting to rationalize your decision to buy the 7000. I think the 7000 is a good phone; a little ugly but good. It apparently fits your needs, but it does not have what others of us need in a handset.

The store manager actually reccomended the Samsung 670 at first, but I didn't really care for it. My corporate freind reccomended the vx7000 just as being a good phone, we didn't really get into ...

I'm a customer service rep at a VZW retail store and have heard a lot of negative feedback about the 710 from varios aspects. Does anyone have any good feedback on this phone? I'm still carrying a t730 and want a camera phone. I've been told to hold out for the Kyocera Koi. Help!

I've been in retail a long time, I even said that I didn't trust the store manager. As for the Bluetooth I fully understand that Bluetooth is not part of the network, I was just relaying what I was told by the store manager. That said my corporate friend said she keeps getting a run around. And her experience with the company tells her it’s going to be a while. All this adds up to her simply not recommending the phone. As for the price I said she speculated $400, you need to read the qualifiers to the statement. And even then, I don’t think that’s unrealistic. I’d be very surprised if it came in under $350.

Finally I am not claiming to know anything revolutionary, I'm simply making a statement based on the information I've receive...
