Motorola V710
I know verizon doesnt know....
ok , this is my first post, and i have been reading intently since i started watching this board (25 pages ago!-great job guys!)
i just got off the phone with verizon to check some account info, and i mentioned the 710- the rep seemed to know the phone i was talking about, so i guess the word is spreading. BUT, he said he thougt he saw it in thier "whats new section" and that the relaease was for aug/sept. But then again, it took the guy 10 min. just to answer a simple accout quesiton.
so, as if read some of the other posts, i will say it in mine....take it for what you like...i just hope the phone lives up to all the hype...lets keep our fingers crossed.

Imagine this: You walk into a VZW retail store and the sales rep greets you, introduces himself, shows you the new VX7000 video phone. Then he explains why America's Choice 1200 is your Best Value and offers the Family Share plan with up to four additional lines. You are then introduced to Get Pix and Get Flix and other technical jargon like Vtext.com and so forth. You are ready to buy... When suddenly you ask about the V710. The rep says "Oh, yeah. You can expect that phone late August/early September at the earliest." You then ask if you can buy the VX7000 now and trade it for the V710 when it arrives and perhaps pay the difference between the two phones. The rep's heart breaks as he sees his sale go up in smoke. It sucks because I work for a major retailer that will likely sell this phone. And you can bet your a,s,s that I am watching like a HAWK for the release date, but Verizon knows this and therefore will attempt to throw line level employees off in order to keep a steady flow of business, it has been said before but why would you buy the VX6000 when you see the V710 in 17 days. (THIS IS NOT ANOTHER RELEASE DATE TO ADD TO THE PILE JUST AN EXAMPLE)
Patience is a virtue but I think we all are starting to get irritable cause it seems we are being stringed along.
I just hope the price...

Geez- at this point I feel like I already had this damned phone and turned it in on "New Every Two"; I've been hearing about it since the article in the Chicago Tribune in January. At this point unless it's slimmer than Ashley Olsen and does my taxes, I think I'll be unimpressed. Add in the fact that we'll all be on Social Security before it's out......
