I want this phone as badly as anyone else, but based on teh conversation I just had with a very nice Customer Service Rep (in the Wallingford, CT call center) I'm guessing the phone won't be out in the next week.

I called up asking when my contract expires, and the CSR (Lynette) proceeded to ask me why I am thinking about chnaging carriers. I told her that despite the fact that VZW's network is great, their phone selection is horrible.

I told her that I need to have a bluetooth capable phone by the end of the month (my contract ends the 27th) and while I would like to stay with VZW, if they aren't cap...

Great to hear, but I'm still not holding my breath...

Maybe if I calm down, and try to forget about the phone.... hrm, wait.. that won't work 🙂

I WANT THE V710!!!!

I guess i'll just sit tight, and hope that when the phone does launch, it will be all that I expect it to be!

Also, regarding VZW and bluetooth..

Does VZW offer an unlimited data service so I can have a internet connection (via BT) to my iPaq and laptop? If anyone has details on this, please clue me in!

Two options.

First, you can get an unlimited data plan. Tis expensive, however, but you can use it as much as you want.

Second, you can get a NA-MOU plan (I think that's what they are currently calling it) which means that it just comes out of your airtime minutes, as if you were otherwise on the phone. Which, for not-so-frequent usage, is probably better. They have been pretty resistant in the past about giving it to folks, but since it's a camera phone (which NA-MOU is intended for) you mig...

Bottom line -- make sure that before you plunk down the cash on a phone that you *do* have 1xRTT data on your phone *and* understand how it works.

Well, the v710 spec sheet says "cdma2000 1xRTT"
so I'm covered there, but still clueless on understanding how it works. Any tips or suggested reading?

Thanks.

The big thing is that, just because the v710 is capable of cdma2000 1xRTT doesn't mean that they will let you use it. I wasn't properly clear in what I said.

There's really no good guides to stuff and the way that Verizon bills and organizes it changes regularly, so anything that you hear now may be obselete whenever the v710 comes out.

You want to make sur...

Wouldn't it be odd for VZW to release a phone on a Saturday?
