Firmware upgrades?

As has been mentioned in this forum, we can probably expect this phone to have a series of firmware updates after it is released. I'm wondering what the procedure is for updating a moto phone. Is there some place you can go to download the updates, or what? How does that work?

All you need to do is bring the phone to a Verizon Wireless Corporate store, the regular stores and not the corporate kiosk's and then they will flash it for you. That's one thing that Verizon Wireless has that AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, Cingular Wireless (they used to but not anymore after they got rid of the techs) doesn't. I'm not sure about SprintPCS. I just recently updated my v60c to the latest v60i software.

Interesting. I've got a v60c. What does the v60i software change?

Depends on the version. When the v60i first came out, the first software update added the games and the manual ringtone composer. Then all the updates after that was basically more to fix problems. v60c/i uses the same software. The v60c doesn't have TTY support that the v60i does no matter what software you add. The update after the original v60i update was to fix the outgoing voice problem that sometimes when you call, you hear garbled voice so you have to call again. The latest one I have no idea what it fixes but it's better to have the latest.
