A few questions. First, can the V710 handle MP3s at a bit rate of 192kbps and higher? Second, is the quality of the V710's camera so much better than the VX7000 as to put the VX7000 to shame? Thirdly, how is the flash on the V710? Is it better than that of the VX7000? Fourthly, how many colors can the external display on the V710 handle? 256, 4,000, 65,000, what? Ecko, can you state again why it is exactly that you chose the VX7000 over the V710? Finally, forgive these redundant questions, but I would just like to get the answers to these questions back out in the open with detailed answers to them. Thanks to you both.

the phone can handle an mp3 at any bitrate as long as you have enough memory on your transflash card. 128mb tf card will hold about an albums worth at that rate.

ecko believes that the 7000 has a better camera but the v710 is a megapixel cam when the 7000 is not. it's all in the eye of the beholder.

the external ID is a little more than, if not monochrome. no color besides the blue display.

the flash is a flash to me. didn't use it because the room was lit up.

You can ask any digital photography specialist because of that microscopic lens it doesn't matter if the camera was 5MP you won't get 5MP quality shots just like you won't get 1.28MP out of it. You'll get what the lens allows you to get, that is why there is discoloration in the v710 shots.

Basically to answer your question the VX7000 takes better pictures because it has the newest qualcomm chipset with enhanced digital photography features.

The flash on the v710 is crap compared to the VX7000. The VX7000 is the first camera with a flash where the flash actually works as it should.

The external screen on the v710 is pitiful, I don't even want to speculate on the resolution because it may be 256.

I listed some of the reasons why I...

Yep, the megapixels is only really about the amount of pixels the camera is capable of. A good example of this is the Canon PowerShot G3 which is 4 Megapixels. The G5 is a 5 Megapixel camera but the lens is still the same as the G3, it's only the CMOS (can't remember the exact name) from Sony that does the processing of the pictures. Casio's Cameras uses the same Canon lens but guess what, blue turns out to be purple. It's not just the lens but the processing. The lens on the camera phones are all junk anyways. It's all how well the internal processing is implemented that matters. Sony is the one that is used by a majority of digital cameras even for the big 3 professional companies - Canon, Nikon, and Konica/Minolta. LG had been in ...
