Unless you need Analog, especially since VZW is moving towards an all digital system come 2005 then tri-mode doesn't matter and transflash is nothing but expandable memory to play mp3's and such at least on the vx7000 you can play those with the internal memory.

With Verizon's dependability I am sure their "ALL DIGITAL" networkj will be in place by 2005. LOL

Analog is a a must when travelling up and down the east coast as there are still many spots that dont catch digital signals. Analog can actually save your butt if need be. Id rather have the coverage/capability than not in an emergency situation.

I like the transflash because you can swap pictures in and out directly via an adapter to your pc/pda/etc.

And the reason you posted this is because? They want all digital to be in place by 2005 they'll have all digital in place by 2005. I never doubt verizon when it comes to their coverage maps. It is never exaggerated and while Sprint may use all their money on their technology as far phones go; Verizon uses theirs on upgrading the system and let the phones lie as they may. So if Verizon says all digital by 2005 then it'll be all digital by 2005.

Is that January 2005 or December 2005?

I wont go a year and a half with dead spots which will make my phone as good as a doorstopper in analog zones.

In an Emergency in an analog area I think the trimode would be a welcome feature.

Like I stated before Verizon has coverage dependability unlike any other carrier so if you can't pull a signal with Verizon there is a good chance you wouldn't be able to pull it with any other carrier neither and that can be debated.

Verizon definitely didn't get their arrogance about their network overnight, it took many years even picking up where other companies left off and it's still unparalleled.

They're constantly upgrading the system and if t...

You never doubt Verizon's coverage maps... you are living a dream. I travel all over the country and I hit holes all the time. That map only means that IF you get a signal, it *should* be verizon's. I assure you that you won't have a digital signal everywhere there is red on their map. I'm not saying analog is everything, to be honest, analog mode is only really good for about 10% more coverage, if that much. But hey, at least its no cingular. their motto "No red = no talky."

I think the correct thing to say is that Verizon Wireless will be going all digital by 2005 but that is only network that's known as Verizon Wireless, not any of the Roamining partners so while the Verizon Wireless native areas are digital, there will still be Analog only areas such as those that use USCC in upper Northern California where the coverage is still Analog only and something that even with America's Choice, you would get charged the roaming fee as it's not in the PRL as you need to manually select System A. So the all digital really only applies to Verizon Wirless native areas and not those that uses roaming partners.

If you base this solely on styling, and build quality, then the v710 is definetly the way to go. I am ashamed at myself for ever condisering the 7000. I saw it yesterday in person, and man, what a hunk of crap. It is completely flat, has no style, amd feels less solid then the 6000. So although all of us have our panties in a bunch over the 710's release, I truly believe the wait will be worth it. If you really cant wait, the second choice would definetly be the a670 from Samsung, as that is very solid and gorgeous phone, not to mention that the screen quality, despite actual resolution numbers, looked much better on the Samsung.
But what the hell do I know

In my opinion, I would say v710 would still be a better choice. Simply because of the speakerphone function because that's what's important to me. The the extra stuff is just an added bonus, not to mention that I'm biased towards Moto as well. 😉
