Another question for The Alchemist.

Motorola says that one of the functions of the V710 is an MP3 player. Do you know if the V710 requires special headphones to listen to MP3s that are stored on the phone or does it have a standard 1/8 inch headphone jack? Thanks.

Will the phone be able to make the mp3's ringers for the phone?

Yes, it supports mp3 and midi ringtones. Though, I believe the mp3 will only play from TF card because ecko couldn't actually transfer mp3's to the phone's memory itself.

I'm assuming it will need special stereo headphones but Moto hasn't mentioned anything about that yet. When they say it's an mp3 player, they don't mean it in the iPod sense but in the sense that it has the ability to play mp3's. It's by no means a substitute for an mp3 player, much like the camera isn't a sub for a digital cam. There's no 1/8 inch headphone jack. Just the standard stuff. Headset jack, volume buttons, camera button, and TF slot.
