If I did not want to stick with VZW's network here in the S.F. Bay Area (which is substantially superior to anything else out there IMHO) I would have switched to a different carrier for a better deal and a cooler phone some time ago. I think that is why many people are excited about the V710 - it looks like we finally will have a feature-rich Bluetooth phone on the most robust network. If you think that you can get coverage that meets your needs with another carrier, by all means switch and enjoy your new V600. Good Luck. 😉

Hey EZ_B:

My reason is the same as yours even though I've been using VZW (formerly GTE Wireless) for the past 15 years in SF (okay, I don't own a car or drive yet). I recently did get a Motorola V80 as a secondary phone and got one of those T-Mobile plans from indirects with a huge rebate on a family plan so I can talk to friends who use T-Mobile using M2M but the signal has been unreliable, I could have signal and lose signal 5 hours later at the same exact spot at home. One weird thing is that everyone I know which is over 200+ people in the Bay Area, they are on T-Mobile, Cingular or AT&T Wireless so the M2M VZW minutes won't do me any good at all... 🙄

I guess maybe you're older than I am. For some reason, even back in 1995 - everyone besides me was using AT&T Wireless and then when other people finally got phones, it's with GSM providers. My mom doesn't really have a phone so that's the reason I got her the T-Mobile Family Plan from a indirect as I can use the V80 and she gets a free phone even though she uses about 10 minutes per month just to call me when needed. I do agree with you about the V710 since as long as it work as a phone, that's all that matters, the other features are really bonuses. I think in Laka and Mendicino(sp?) counties where one of my friends make deliveries from SF, VZW wasn't that great over there as there are areas with no coverage. That's the only area I c...
