Local Stores or *611?

When the v710 hits, any educated guesses on if they will be available by calling customer service before they are available in stores?

On a sidenote... Waiting sucks.

So I've been patiently waiting the past several weeks for the v710 to be released, and now the antenna on my timeport (8767) has broken for the 5,624th time. The droopy antenna is really annoying, and it causes me tog et lousy reception inside of my apartment. I wonder if it's worth the $10 replacing it with all these rumors that the phone will be availiable any day now!

I have the P8767 too and still love the lil' sucker! Will be sorry to let it go, but it's time to move on to a state-of-the-art phone. I might keep it for a 2nd-line phone anyway, as I cannot bring the V710 into work ("no cameras" regulations).

By the way, had the P8767 three years next month and NEVER broke the anntenae :-)

It IS slightly bent near the top though...

I've got a Motorola 7868W myself, and for sure it's been the best damn cell phone I've ever owned. I get a signal always, and even while everyone else busts on me (more and more lately...) for having a dinosaur, I don't care. Yeah I've been through an antenna or two, but who cares. I even used to have a 7760 before this (same phone basically, but not tri mode)...

Now, of course I'll be doing the mega-upgrade like the rest of you, to the v710 or better....whenever the thing makes it out.
For some reason I don't like the LG7000...

However the style/design/shape/size of the Samsung 670 I really do like. And I love the way the antenna sits into its chamber.

Anyway - until then...

Yeah, I'm also a StarTac 7868 user. Pretty much, until the 710, there wasn't anything that was making me feel like I wanted to upgrade.

The nice thing is that the antenna-where-most-of-the-stubby-part-is-fixe d-to-the-phone (see the pictures to see what I'm talking about) seems to be a tad more durable than the stubby-antenna-where...

DITTO! Although I'm anxiously awaiting the release of this new v710, I really have some trepidations about giving up my 7868. I mean, this thing simply will not die, battery life is excellent, and I get a signal in locations where others have had extreme difficulty.

This v710 had better live up to its expectations because, at the price premium I'm sure it's going to command, people are going to be majorly pissed if their old StarTacs (which can be had for under 35 bucks on ebay) perform better.

I concur. I had a 7868 and it was a great phone. ...
