Will be new to Verizon...

I will be a new Verizon client when the V710 comes out. I am currently an AT&T client (can't live without bluetooth). I have been waiting for Verizon to get a bluetooth phone. Now that there is one coming out (eventually). I have to figure out what type of plan I want. I have read over the Verizon Wireless website, and have a relative idea of what features I want/ need. Part of my curiosity is with the length of plan. I like the idea of a discount with the two year plan (for a phone upgrade).

I am wondering, from people who have experienced the plans. Is a two year plan worth the discount?

Previously, I have been so unimpressed by my wireless providers that I wouldn't lock myself into a plant that long (Sprint and At&T). Of wh...

If you plan on staying with Verizon for the 2 years or longer then I'd say definately go with the 2 year contract. The New Every 2 is a great feature and the nice thing about the Verizon contracts is that it's basically just a commitment to stay with them for that period of time. You can still change plans or features during that time period. Just remember that you have to be sure that you want to stay for the 2 years because getting out of that contract could be pretty expensive.

I know for a fact that it's out in testing. I know someone here that has tested it and likes it. He and I work for Verizon.

Yes, but you posted yesterday that it was on the "service" side. I am guessing that you are now saying that it is not there? Or is the service side the same as the "WDTS" side because it has apparently been there for quite some time.

I think Verizon is the best of the carriers; so as long as their service is solid in your area, then go for it. Before you sign up, see if you can do a three- or four-day test of a Verizon phone and check it out all over the place (where you work, where you live, where you go on weekends, etc.). I'm very happy with Verizon in NYC, and it's been quite awhile since I last went somewhere where I couldn't use my phone (due to reception). Good signal strength and good sound quality, too.

Either way, I would suggest you take a test drive of a phone before you seal the deal.

Good luck.

Verizon offers 15 day return on phones and service, you would only pay for the minutes used if you decide to cancel service.

Well depends on where you live I've been with verizon for 5years. my last plan I got just before NE2 (new every two) was implemented. my current plan is up august 10th so I have to wait anyway to get the v710 with the disscount. I am happy with my service in myrtle beach, and the tri state area(NJ,NY,CT). I'm even happy with my current T720. I have not had a problem or am as picky as all the horror stories. One common problem with all of verizon is the phones trying to figure out what network to operate on, which causes minor delays every so often. some phones are able to decide better than others. there are three networks with verizon IN-network, extended network, and all other/roaming. As far as the analog,800Mhz,and 1900Mhz. I donno which...
