Moto Bluetooth Adapter Question

usernamehere

Jul 13, 2004, 2:49 PM
Honestly I couldn't care less about a camera or video phone, all I want is the bluetooth connectivity so I can link up to my Acura TL.

Does anyone know if the Bluetooth adapter listed on the Moto website works? Anyone have any experience with it?

That way I can spend $40 dollars for a ugly looking adapter, and wait for the hype to die down on the V710 (and if history proves to be correct, the first few "improvements/bug fixes" 🙂

Why do you think you need the adapter? If the Acura has bluetooth in the dash (which I think it does), should the phone not connect directly?

Sorry I probably didn't post my question correctly 🤭

I have an older Motorola phone w/o bluetooth, and just want something to work with my car and current phone. The adapter looks like a way to do it, but I am not sure.

I will buy the v710 or something similar when the hype dies down, but I have had the car since Dec, and can't take advantage of the cool feature.

Thanks for your response,

First off, I am assuming you know the v710 has built in bluetooth, and the adapter will add bluetooth capabilities to OTHER phones.

The adapter listed on the site will NOT connect to your TL.

I have a TL too and you need to have a bluetooth enabled phone to hook it up to the car (you need to put the device in "discovery mode" in order to link it to the car the first time)

The adapter just allows you to use bluetooth headsets and anthe like, on your current phone.

Thank you for your reply,

Yes, I know the V710 has built in bluetooth, but I like most everyone else here, am getting tiered of waiting. I currently have an older motorola phone, and thought the adapter might allow it to work with the bluetooth in the car.

I thought of switching to Cingular to use the v600, but verizon service is soo much better. That would be service area coverage... NOT customer service 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Thank you for your response

Hi, I have been waiting since Feb for this phone to use with my TL - I was told it "should" work. Have you heard anything else?

thanks,

yes this phone will worth with your 04 TL. you might have to wait a couple of days until your acura dealer gets the info on how to program this phone to your vehicle. check with them on if they have the info for the V600. should be similar

I have a TL and have also been waiting. The adapter (DC600 I believe) will NOT work with the TL, it does not have a "hands free protocol" which is needed. If you go to site/forum acura-tl.com there are a number of people and tried it to no avail. In addition, if you call acura they will tell you it dosen't work...

Thank You! 😁
You just saved me $40 and a huge headache

When I got the car they made such a big deal about the bluetooth phone and how cool it was. They kind of left out the fact that there isn't a phone out that works with the car yet 😲

Kind of like the DVD audio. Amazing sound, sadly not many titles using the DVD audio format yet.

Thanks again for the advise!
