Arrogant Verizon Manager

I just stopped by my Verizon Store on the way home to ask about any info on the release of the V710. I was there 2 weeks ago and was told to stop by in a week. they might have some info. So I gave it 2 weeks. When I asked the Manager he said it might be soon or could be a month or 2. He also said even if knows, he couldn't tell Costumers that kind of information because it's not for them to know.
Just Employees of Verizon are privileged to Release dates. Kind of makes you feel like he wanted to say "When it's out it will be out and stop bothering us " Was a little turned off by the attitude.

Ok you have to understand it is not VZW yanking your chain, it is Motorola yanking VZW that phone was suppost to come out the first part of july, but Motorola continues to push it back due to bug in the phone and not having it working out at all as they disired, so if you wish to be angry redirect your anger not at the gentleman that has no more information then you do

I am not selling it. I have too much $$$ invested that anyone would buy it. I have also (a good thing) had it apart and recased it with what parts are available so far (which is all the case, except for the lens, which had the wrong part in the bag.)

I can tell you all about it and send photos, but other than that, hang in there, they have to release it, there are too many already built to just throw away!

If all he said was there is still a problem with the phone and not sure when it would be released. I would have been fine with that. But with all of the " your not privileged to know this information and I can't tell you even if I do know" That's kind of a arrogant way to answer a simple question.

I am sorry but as a member of Verizon Wireless I have to hold contempt for your statements about your interaction with our manager. 👿 The whole reason we give tentative dates is because of individuals like yourself. If we give a firm date for a phone to be out there are a lot of problems that can be caused. I know because I have seen it happen with another telecom company I worked for. We ultimately strive to bring you the best working equipment possible and if that means delaying a tentative date then so be it. For example say you got the V710 and there is a software glitch which erases your entire phone book and/or any other information in the phone. What's the first thing you're going to do. You're going to call into customer servic...

I have no problem waiting for the phone. Just stopped in to ask a question. Like I said, he could have just said there is some problems with the phone and not sure of the release date. I would be fine with that. Even the employee next to him rolled his eyes and smiled at me. Was just a little rude.

i understand and agree with your postion on backing up your company, but if an employee doesnt know then they should not even speculate on a release date or information about the product. Customers remember what their rep says for the most part. Think about the last time you went into anytype of store...electronics, clothing etc. and you talked to a "REAL" sales professional you remember what they told you. I dont understand why so many sales people speculate rather than just saying I dont know. What would have pissed me off in the case of this person going to the manager and the manager saying I can not even give out that information if I had it. As a customer how would you feel. I would be pissed and tell you to " Kiss my ass on the crack"...

Without speculation information this forum would be nonexistent. The whole thing is that when we state a "tentative" or "possibility" most people take that as a definite. Which if you review the meanings of these words you will find that far from the truth.

just talked to motorola and VZN. Both gave possitive response to V710 being out first week of Aug.
Having just purchesed the LG7000 on the 5th, am returning it for the 710. Not that I dis like the 7000, but want storage slot, 1.2 meg camera, and most of all, 7000 has no speaker phone. 7000 is a very good phone, but am expecting much more with 710

No offense to anyone who is a fan of LG, but doesn't anyone else in here think the LG phones are hella ugly. I never liked any of their models. The 7000 may have the bells & whistles of what most people want, but to me looks do count for something. Just my thought.

Nobody ever told me a release date. I just came back like he said too. He said he might have more info in a week. So gave it 2 weeks. I didn't expect to give me a date if he can't or doesn't know ( which I'm sure he doesn't ) I'm not demanding like that. Doesn't get you anywhere in life. Not blaming him for not knowing either. Just try to be on the same page as the costumers. just be pleasant.

🙂 I must say everyone I have ever had dealings with at Verizon has been great. I smile every Monday when I call checking on the 710 and they say no word yet. I did talk with one rep right after Moto was there with a demo 710 and he said it was a great phone and worth waiting for.

Yes GodDAMMIT IT. Stop bothering us about the damn phone. What right do you have to ask an employee about proprietary information. The balls of the people on this forum who ask people for sensitive documents just so they know "what they are getting for Christmas and when". Leave us alone and let us do our jobs, if we say we don't know, get over it and keep waiting. And anyone on this board thats dumb enough to post proprietary material like the jackass who posted the Equipment Guide pic should get what they are asking for.

Let these people do there jobs and wait like adults.

The people at Cingular by me weren't exactly helpful or nice either.

I do find that many people in Customer Service type businesses where low reception/tech issues/phone availabilty aren't exaclty their problem are quite testy. I can't blame someone for getting annoyed at the same questions day in and day out and irate customers yell at you.

I don't know if this is still the case, but if it is, i know one way VZW has cingular whipped!

4-5 years ago, i remmeber a housemate having a problem one night after the bar with his nokia 6161. I dont remember what the problem was, but that doesn't really matter. It's like 3am, i'd was like like 'uh..retard..call customer service' and he replied 'they're closed' I couldn't believe it but he called, and Cingulars customer service closed at 9pm.. what a joke!

Yeah I pretty much had the same problem.

Ive posted before about how I had to bring my phone to Cingular many times and they would *send it out* and give me a loaner for forever, then when the problem was *fixed* it would come back and still have no reception.

Thats why I switched.
