LOOK PEOPLE ... NO ONE KNOWS **** ABOUT THIS PHONE BECAUSE IT IS NOT OUT YET. THE ONLY THING WE KNOW IS THAT THE V710 HAD SOME SOFTWARE GLITCHES AND FAILED VERIZONS TESTING. NOW MOTOROLA FIXED THE PROBLEM, AND THE PHONE IS BACK UNDER TESTING.
VERIZON IS BEING SLOW ON COMING OUT WITH THIS PHONE ... BUT WHEN IT COMES OUT IT WILL WORK PERFECT. ITS WORTH THE WAIT ... IMAGINE PAYING ALMOST $400 ON A PHONE THAT DOESNT WORK.
THEN PEOPLE WILL BE COMPLAINING THE **** DOESNT WORK, AND RETURNING THE PHONE. SO LETS ALL RELAX AND WAIT...
THE PHONE WILL BE COMING OUT PROBABLY BY AUGUST!!! VERIZON IS A GOOD PROVIDER, AND ALWAYS GETS THE BEST RATINGS. THEY HAVE THE BEST PHONES, THE BEST RECEPTION, AND GREAT PLANS (SHOULD START NIGHTS EARLIER)...

I AM NOT TRYING TO ARGUE OR UPSET U. IT JUST SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE ARE ARGUING AND ASKING EACHOTHER A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS THAT NO ONE KNOWS.
AND YES I HAVE A DEFINITIVE SOURCE REGARDING MY ASSERTION THAT THE PHONE IS PRESENTLY UNDER TESTING. THE PHONE HAD A SOFTWARE GLITCH... AND WAS SENT BACK TO MOTOROLA. YOU FORGET THAT THIS IS VERIZONS FIRST BLUETOOTH PHONE, AND AT&T AND THESE OTHER PROVIDERS HAVE DIFFERENT SOFYWARE PROGRAMS AND NETWORKS.
THAT HAS BEEN THE DELAY WITH THE PHONE.

Thanks for the help with the caps. 😉 I am well aware that this is Verizon's first Bluetooth phone. If they had released another one I would have it right now. You have a good source that says that the phone is now "under testing". I also have it on good authority that the phone has passed friendly user trials and is ready for VZW to pull the trigger. Since this is an Internet forum neither of us can expect anyone here with even borderline levels of intelligence to take our word for it either way. One thing that is for sure though: Mot is spending lots of money on large color ads in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Golf Magazine, ESPN The Magazine, Sports Illustrated, and others. I think that it is safe to say that Mot...

If you read my post you will see that my assertion is in agreement with yours. The V710 is finished with friendly user trials and is awaiting the VZW pull of the trigger. You might want to re-read that post. 😉

EZ_B, I'm behind your answers all the way though not only because we're in SF but because of your high level of intelligence in postings. And you're right about the ads since advertising does cost a fortune and as a investor in companies, I should know.

Hehe, you know what's funny is every time I goto the 199 Pine St store and that's between 18 months and 2 years, I always deal with a different sales rep even even though I've dealt with every rep there. I originally started service at AutoSymphony on Van Ness in 1995 but every upgrade has been done at the Pine Street store with the exception of the v60c which was at the Chinatown store. I've did software updates on both the 7868 and the v60c at every store in SF, SSF, Mountain View and Pleasanton. I guess we'll just wait for a phone with few or no bugs than rushing it with lots of bugs which even RAID can't cure. 😁

I've been a Pine St. store guy myself since the old GTE store down ...

In the days before the store was at Pine, it used to be located at 5th and Harrisson and known as Cellular Communications Corp - GTE MobilNet. I guess this is where the name CellCo came from. The guy I dealt with back then in 1989 was Doug. I don't think they had a Brannan St store since the other one when Pine existed was at 2nd and Townsend where they actually have technicians. That store relocated to the Daniel Burnham Court/Van Ness as GTE Wireless. Then they opened the 2nd & Harrisson and the Chinatown store and both of those ended up closing. Now, they have the Marina store and the new Corporate Kiosk at the SF Centre. I bought my StarTAC 7760 from the Pine St store but the StarTAC 7868W in June of 2000 before they were supposed...

I must be mistaken about the Brannan St. store. Now that you mention it, the 2nd and Townsend address sounds accurate to me now. I dealt with a guy years ago named Mike Reese at that store when I decided that Sprint and Pac*Bell Wireless Services were no longer providing me with satisfactory service. He hooked my up with a great number (easy to remember and ends with 00) that I still use to this day. I have had to wait for CS a couple of times @ Pine, but it is not too bad. BTW Did you get a chance to check out the asian-american chick that works sales at Chestnut (I am assuming that you are male and straight - don't take it personally, we are talking SF here...)? Pretty hot IMHO, but I digress...

I actually only went to the 2nd and Townsend store once. I think it was in 1997 since what happened was I bought a Motorola StarTAC 8000 (it's the LCD version of the 8500) Analog phone as it was cheaper than the 8500 which was LED based from Future Paging & Cellular (now known as Future Wireless) on Kearny St. The phone was turning off by itself and it wasn't the battery so Future Wireless helped me send the phone back to Motorola. The first time, it came back with a claim that the phone was liquid damaged and it was flowing with a oil substance up to the keypad and the note told me to buy a new Motorola phone. I called Motorola and they had me sent it in again. This time, the phone came back completely non-working and the contacts for ...

EZ_B...I understand why you feel this way, but companies have made mistakes before, and it is quite possible they invested all that money thinking that the phone would be released very quickly. Unfortuantely that is not completely up to them. It is up to Verizon wireless and it's stupid testing that gave us the T730. I don't expect you to believe me because this is an internet forum...but I tell ya..you will not see this phone until the very end of August the earliest if at all.

We will have to agree to disagree then. One thing is for sure, if the phone gets canned it will be one for the ages considering the substantial coinage that Mot is spending on advertising. Another thing that I th...

Well, that's incorrect. The Motorola 270c with the Bluetooth module would be Verizon's first Bluetooth phone. I know, I've been using it for two years. The module is not something you plug into the 2.5mm jack, it actually replaces the battery cover, making the whole phone a bit thicker. and adding the Bluetooth info to the menu system. I am waiting for the v710 to come out specifically for the Bluetooth feature. I have been using Bluetooth headsets for the two years I've had the phone, and would not want to go back to wires. 🙂
