TORMENTA

THE ONLY PLACE THIS PHONE HAS COME OUT IS IN EUROPE. THATS WHY WHEN YOU GO TO EBAY, SO SEE PEOPLE SELLING THE PHONE. IT HAS ALREADY COME OUT THERE, AND THEY SAY ITS GREAT.
iTS NOT WORTH GETTING THE PHONE ON EBAY ITS OVER PRICED, AND MIGHT NOT WORK ON OUR NETWORK.
GOOD LUCK

Perhaps I may have missed a few, but all of the V710s that I have seen in photographs on Ebay and elsewhere were clearly branded with the Verizon logo. I do not believe that VZW provides service anywhere in Europe.

U MAY BE CORRECT. I CAN NOT ANSWER THAT IN CERTAINITY, BUT THAT IS WHAT A FEW SELLERS HAVE WROTE ME ON EBAY. DONT FORGET THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL PHONE, AND THEY HAVE BEEN SELLING IT UNLOCKED, MEANING IT CAN WORK WITH ANY PROVIDER

oops...what i was trying to get out is that an unlocked v710 would not work with verizon service because verizon runs on a CDMA network, whereas unlocked phones can only works on a GSM network...perhaps this is a reason for the delayed release

The V710 is a CDMA phone and, locked or unlocked, will only operate on a CDMA (and analog) network. If I am not mistaken VZW, unlike Sprint, does not lock its phones to a specific network.

First of all it is not an international phone, that is the A840. This is a CDMA ONLY phone, Europe is GSM, which leads me to the next point...the EBAY phones are a scam if they don't accept Paypal and come from Europe.

However, Argentina and Brazil run on a CDMA network, allowing inter-operability with US networks. Since the phone has been release in both those countries, it is possible to get a v710 that is non-US to work in the US

I hereby proclaim that TORMENTA knows nothing, as posting with ALL CAPS indicates.

The v710 may work in a few other countries that have seen the light and gone with CDMA instead of GSM.

None of them happen to be in Europe. Europe is GSM-only, and there's pretty much no way that they would let you even think of doing anything that's not GSM.

Of course, the eBay fraudsters will tell you that it is available in Europe, that you can pay via Western Union or their preferred escr...

  1. Please stop shouting. If you're averse to the shift key for some reason, all-lower-case is fine, but ALL-CAPS is shouting and it's rude. Thanks! 😉

  2. The V710 is not out in Europe. It won't work in Europe at all, since it does not have GSM.

According to www.cdg.org (The CDMA Development Group), there 3.2 million CDMA subscribers in Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle East. Here's a link to the map.

http://www.cdg.org/worldwide/index.asp » (click on Europe - Russia after going to that page for a list of European countries)

It is mostly Eastern Europe so I guess it's possible that it could be released there. I still wouldn't buy one from one of those Romanian sellers on eBay that accept Western Union only.

OHHHHH !!! and Sam K ended everyone's rebuttal by providing a website stating how many subscribers use CDMA... LOL thats funny to me cause everyone seemed so SURE there weren't any cdma service in europe. anyhow, there is such a thing as SPC to lock phones onto networks for CDMA. I've had to call Verizon many times about the SPC code while working in an Authorized Service Center for nokia and motorola.

The only place the V710 is out is Korea but that's a entirely different phone and not the same V710 we're talking about.
