Is anyone actually interested in hearing about a real v710 that is being tested in the field daily?
Is there a way I can put photos up on this site?
All this "speculation" must be boring by now...
Interested? Let me know...
...
We would all love info on the real V710. Any real and proven information you could provide would be greatly appreciated by all of us.
You cannot put pics on this site but you can put pics on your own website and put a link on this site so people can go to your site.
...
ok, I am doing that now....
...
Ok people, at the request of PhAntom, here it is:
http://www.therestofyourlife.com/v710-1.html »Check once a day, starting tomorrow, for the ongoing log.
I will try my best to keep updating it. Starting 7/19 I will have more time to do so as I travel across the country with it (yes, by car).
Enjoy!
...
and will be taking it across the country along side a v60s and t730 for 14 days next week.
I DO NOT work for Verizon.
Ha! I was about to say "wow, its the 'can you hear me now? guy"!
Whats the cradle you have there? Is that a repair center thing only, or is that another accessory we can look forward to forking out more $$ ?
Much thanks for the info and pics. Looking forward to any info you can get to us!
...
If I am not mistaken that cradle has been available since the V60 first came out.......
...
Doh! Thanks, guess I shoulda done more homework before I posted. 🤭
...
It is and also charges a spare battery at the same time.
...
Oh yes it does, but not the v710 battery... 😳
...
hey Level 2, which Authorized Service Center do you work for in NYC?
...
is NYCOM a level 2 service center or level 3 for motorola and LG?
...
We are a Level 2 Center. 😉
...
hrm... maybe we can do business. i work at a level 3 service center in NYC. i'm not sure if you have heard of us. its Nobletec, Inc.
...
Are you the guy they call Mr. Lee?
...
hahahah i'm not him but i work for him. and its Li not Mr. Lee. i see you know him? have you done business with them?
...
I don't want to say too much here... can I call you at the number on your website? Who do I ask for?
...
sure you can. www.nobletecinc.com althought it hasn't been updated in a while which probably means i should... anyways just ask for alan and then leave your name and number. i'm not in the office now. i will call you back in about 15-20 minutes.
...
oh yeah... you have to call after 10:30.
...
So Level2, are you Jerry? 😁
...
Nope. But if you know him, you can ask him who I am. I don't like to be too open in these forums, in a place like this, one can be misquoted easily.
...
Heh, I thought you were him since I remember he's a big poster on Howard Forums and was like the one who helped people converted their v60c's to v60i(c)'s.
...
Well, yes, i do recall partaking in such activity... ;-)
...
Hehe, I did my own conversion since my friend has a AT&T TDMA v60i(t) but he didn't want the replaceable faceplate cover so I just swapped mines out with his and already had the new v60c(i) antenna assembly. One thing I noticed is that the AT&T v60's are all made in Brazil while the Verizon and GSM v60's were all made in China.
...
The only thing made here is money! Then we ship it all over the borders.... 🙄
...
Oh God, I am so not that guy, but I heard he does live here in NYC...
the cradle has been around a while. It is the SPN5019A and you can get it from any Verizon store, namely www.gonycom.com .
Check my site tomorrow for more info.
...
Hmm, you sure it's not the SPN5032A?
...
Nope. The only difference between the two is the one you mentioned has the adaptor to charge the t720/730 battery. Neither of them will charge the v710's battery, the snn5695a in the spare slot.
thx.
...
Interesting because I bought one a year ago and then helped someone else buy one a few days ago and they all were SPN5032A's. Do you happen to know if the battery the V80 uses (SNN5614) is actually used on any other Motorola phones? Thanks.
...
Level 2,
Thanks guy! I look forward to your reports from the field and I am especially interested in the comparison between the V710 & T730. Thank you again for your efforts.

Sounds like a Kodak moment.
...
Don't throw it yet! Do you have the latest software version in it? I believe it ends in 5P?
...
Yea i have the 5P. Still not too impressed with theoverall welness of the phone... Reguardless when the V710 comes out my 720 MUST go!! lol
...
Well, I will post more details on my website, but until then, I must say my 710 has been superior in RF so far in the fringe area I know of....
...
I'm sure I speak for everyone in this forum when I say "thank you very much" Level 2 for all the information and work you are doing to keep us up to date on the V710.
Do you have any information towards the release date?
...
You are all welcome and check it daily.
I do not know a thing more than what I read here about a release date.
...
I have a couple comments/questions. First, thanks to Level 2 for the info and updates. Second, thanks to everyone for not flaming him within seconds of his orginal post.
Now... it looks like at least the colors on the external display have been changed (from the blueish, to an orange-ish). This would be contrary to reports from ecko04 that the external display cannot be changed. Can you confirm or deny the changability of the external display?
Secondly, how did you connect to Mobile Phone Tools? I've heard conflicting reports regarding whether or not Bluetooth (or even the data cable) works for this.
Are you able transfer files via BT or the data cable? Are you able to send/receive video messages? Again, these are functions th...

To answer your questions, the colors are changed in 'color profile' just like the 720 and such...
I have not bought the BT adaptor, but with the proper Moto software, I can work on the phone with Mobile Phone Tools and the PST software. It uses the same P2k port Moto has since the v60c.
As far as BT with other devices; Palm, etc, it looks restricted. I will know more next week, as I do not own any of that stuff. I will post it on the website I made for you guys as I know it.
The HS810 BT headset is just f*cking awesome. It blows plantronics away.
Physically, the phone is a BEAR to work on. It makes the P8767 look like mush when it comes to disassembly!
I can send and receive video just fine, as well as pics and SMALL audio...

Thanks for the answers Level2. What's the latest version of PST officially? Since I see 6.9.2 and there seems to be a 7.1 somewhere too.
