Bluetooth Questions about V710
I own a Palm Tungsten T3. It can send and receive pictures and mp3s (with a card) over Bluetooth.
I would love to know if it is possible to send a picture from my palm pilot to the v710.
Also, is it possible to send mp3 files from your computer (with a bluetooth adapter) to your v710?
Also, if I get the computer transfer connection, Is it possible to load Java games on the v710?
My current phone, the v120e, has this cool blue glow to it, but its really primitive.
Can someone explain to me the whole "Get It Now" feature on the advanced Verizon phones?
I'm ...

With a little work, however, I am sure it will be able to circumvent those limitations and install things yourself via the data cable.

If history is any indicator, the phone will be limited (or "crippled" as you said) in that you will only be able to use GetItNow programs that you pay fees and airtime for from verizon.

Ahh! The beauty of hacking 😁

Not through Bluetooth

Nope, data and file transfer profiles through Bluetooth have been disabled on the phone.

No, especially since the 710 doesn't support Java.

Get It Now is a service offered by VZW that allows you to download and in...

What about synching of contacts? That's a biggie for me too

My T3 does have a SD card slot. I guess I'll use that.

That can't be done through Bluetooth. I do it using a $7 non-OEM Motorola data cable and Mobile Phone Tools.

How do you know this stuff? Do you actually have the phone?
If you goto Motorola's accessory page for the V710, you'll see Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 listed under connectivity and data kits.

When you goto Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 product specs, you'll see the following note about syncing.
"Sync capabilities are compatible with Microsoft Outlook Express (Contact sync only), Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 20002, Lotus Notes 5.0, 5.5 and 6.01."
I don't know if this link is still up (I can't look it at while I'm at work) but it's the back of the Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 flyer that "The Alchemist" posted on here. He got it at...

No I don't have the phone; but I am borderline obsessed with it and read pretty much everything that has to do with this phone, including people who have had the phone and pretty much told us everything there is to tell us about this phone. So most of my information is from other people's experiences with the phone.
If anyone actually has the phone, can they please help me out?

I can understand your distrust of information from anybody that doesn't have the phone but very few people have it and out of those people you have to find someone that did. I also have been reading everything posted about this phone, here on PhoneScoop, WirelessAdvisor, HowardForums, online articles, Motorola's web site, etc., going back to the FCC documents for the V710 that wer put on the FCC web site back in February.
If Motorola's own literature says that it's Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 software doesn't support connecting via Bluetooth with the...

Aside from that, I am really hoping that PhoneTools 3.0 will address some of the issues about connecting with the phone.

I was really just asking about Bluetooth synching just to see if it could be done. 😎

Unfortunately, it's being said that the Bluetooth capabilities of this phone have been crippled and the only things you can do with it are pair it with a headset/handsfree device, and use it for Dial-up networking profiles (whether through a PDA, laptop, or desktop). OBEX transfers and data sync aren't possible. I'm mostly concerned with the DUN profile working and being able to pair it with my iPaq and get online from anywhere. From what I've heard, it's entirely possible. It would have been nice to be able to do a data sync and copy my contacts to my phone via Bluetooth, but since I have a Motorola data ca
