Cingular, AT&T Wireless top consumer complaints
NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - AT&T Wireless Services Inc. (AWE) and Cingular Wireless, which plan to merge, drew the most complaints about their service in the second quarter, the Consumers Union advocacy group said on Wednesday.
More than 70 of the 132 second-quarter complaints were about AT&T Wireless and Cingular, Consumers Union analyst Janee Briesemeister said. She added that many of the complaints were about how customers were billed, as well as about cell phone network quality or service.

As for the statement left my Mark Siegel, "AT&T Wireless spokesman Mark Siegel argued that the number of complaints made to the Consumers Union was too small to indicate a widespread trend" needs to understand an important fact. That fact is that not everyone actually writes or calls in to complain about service. So when 1 person does actually write or call in to complain, you got to think of that 1 person as a whole slew of people complaining. So his statement saying that there isn't enough complaints to indicate anything is wrong. If...

My feeling is that you are correct. I suspect that Mot has spent the time and money to make this a stand-out product. I don't believe that it is being delayed because it is intrinsically a POS. I think that they are just putting the finishing touches on what will be a kick-ass phone and Mot's CDMA renaissance.
